Evaluation of the automated micro-solid phase extraction clean-up system for the analysis of pesticide residues in cereals by gas chromatography-Orbitrap mass spectrometry

Food analysis is a tremendously broad field that constantly evolving. New methods have emerged to increase productivity, such as modern miniaturized and robotic analytical techniques. In this paper, micro-solid-phase extraction system (µ-SPE) for clean-up was combined with autosampler yield ready-to-analyze extracts. The evaluated its applicability in routine laboratories. new, automated, high-throughput µ-SPE method applied acetonitrile extracts developed the of pesticide residues cereals by gas chromatography-Orbitrap mass spectrometry (GC-Orbitrap-MS). efficiency demonstrated removal matrix-interfering components recovery pesticides. sorbent bed mixture consisted magnesium sulfate, primary-secondary amine, C18, CarbonX, effectively retained matrix without loss target analytes. Analysis five types (barley, oat, rice, rye, wheat) GC-Orbitrap-MS showed removed more than 70% components. validated 170 pesticides 159 wheat, 142 barley, 130 127 rice. Spike values were 70–120% all repeatability, calculated relative standard deviation, less 20%. limits quantitation achieved 0.005 mg kg?1 almost analytes, ensuring compliance maximum residue limits.
